Individual Proposal

Title: Enrollment

I. Background

Far Eastern University is a nonsectarian, private university in the Philippines. Created by the merger of Far Eastern College and the Institute of Accounts, Business and Finance, FEU became a university in 1934 under the guidance of first president Nicanor Reyes Sr. It soon became the leading proprietary, for-profit university in the Philippines. FEU’s campus is noted for a number of historical buildings preserved from the first half of the 20th century. Far Eastern University was founded in 1934 when the Far Eastern College and the Institute of Accounts, Business and Finance (IABF) merged. Far Eastern College, founded in 1919, had been a liberal arts college in Quiapo ; the IABF had been established (originally under the name Institute of Accountancy) by Nicanor Reyes, Sr., head of the Department of Economics of the University of the Philippines, with a number of other prominent educators in 1928.IABF had been originally predominately used by night students, and the new university, which was supported by the tuition provided by its students rather than government grants, soon demonstrated that a private university was financially sustainable in the Philippines.

Enrollment

Far Eastern University has two enrollment system, the FEU Integrated Enrollment System wherein student can enroll through the cashier booths and FEU Online Enrollment wherein student can enroll online just by going to their website. As of today FEU online system is developing a new program that can satisfy the needs of everyone. Some students still have complains about the system. Those students who belong to block/regular can only enroll online.

Online Enrollment System is one of the latest trends of the schools today. Far Eastern University develops their own online system because it is the most convenient way for the students can enroll. Online Enrollment system of Far Eastern University is been running since 1997 and every each year it improves much better.

Far Eastern University will not allow a student to pay for the tuition via BPI if the student has a current balance of even just a centavo. Also, irregular student and foreign student can’t enroll online. FEU has insufficient cashiers to serve during the payment. Next, organization fees are separated from the tuition fee. So, the student will go in FEU just to pay for the organization fee.

Our group will tackle all about Enrollment in Far Eastern University. As of now, the system of enrollment in Far Eastern University is still chaotic. Enrollment process in the school really affects the students especially when enrollment comes, we the researchers of Group 3 of Dela Cruz section aims to improve and solve the problems of the enrollment in FEU.

Friends..

Even though we’ve changed and we’re all finding our own place in the world, we all know that when the tears fall or the smile spreads across our face, we’ll come to each other because no matter where this crazy world takes us, nothing will ever change so much to the point where we’re not all still friends.
